Avoiding the Window Tax Photo Credit: Gary Burt
We are struggling to get out of the great recession of 2008 – 2009. It’s time to evaluate how some of the actual and proposed solutions have or would have worked. This power point presentation will go through the history of the recession and the steps along the way taken to mitigate the impact and to get the economy going again. Attendees can follow along on a matrix that compares actual and proposed solutions based on several criteria, scoring their effectiveness from one to ten. Henry George’s fiscal reform will be proposed as not only a way to get us out of the recession but also, had it been in place earlier, as a way to have prevented the recession to begin with.
