You can learn Economics at the
Henry George School
It's informal, fun, and cheap!
Thinking for yourself, you'll discover:
- Why, in our productive and democratic society, it seems to
get more difficult every year to earn a living
- Why, even in times of prosperity, millions of people are
unable to find work
- Why the cost of housing is so high
- Why, with so many government programs aimed at preventing poverty,
the problem seems to be growing worse
- Why taxes are so high, and so difficult to understand?
- Why vital public services, such as schools, public health, and transportation,
lurch from crisis to crisis
- Why a 19th- century American radical’s proposal for democratic, broad-based,
prosperity with liberty and social justice receiving
increasing attention today
We offer classes
(current schedule) in the Chicago loop, and sometimes at neighborhood
and suburban sites. Tutorials, Internet, and correspondence courses
are also available, and we have affiliated schools in other cities. You can sign up for a course,
or just attend an introductory lecture or other free event.
You can just ask to be added to our mailing list.
No course costs over $25, complete including materials.
Note to those who seek to become wealthy: We do not claim that our classes will enable you to get
rich quick, or even slowly. They will
help you understand why making a living is so
difficult for most people, while a few do become
rich far beyond their contribution to society.
What you do with this information is up to you.
